About this reference material
Bacteriostatic water is sterile water for injection containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol, which inhibits microbial growth and allows a vial to be entered more than once under aseptic technique. It is used in laboratory settings as a diluent for reconstituting lyophilized reference material.
